Administered by the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation, the Health Education Program for Patients (HEPP) has produced a listing of patient education materials, which have been favorably reviewed for a variety of criteria including scientific accuracy, content, and appropriateness for use in a family practice setting. The HEPP database is a service created to assist health professionals in identifying appropriate patient education materials for their office.

Materials in the HEPP database include printed matter (books, brochures, fact sheets, newsletters, posters, websites, etc.), computer software, and videocassettes. The HEPP database includes complete information on each item and its source. The material is obtained by contacting the source listed or for instant patient information handouts look for those listings with downloadable PDF samples. Some pieces have a resource guide attached, which includes extended information and links for more information on a topic.

If you need help searching HEPP please call: 800-274-2237, ext. 4406.

THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS FOUNDATION HAS FAVORABLY REVIEWED THE MATERIAL IN THE FOLLOWING LISTING. FAVORABLE REVIEW MEANS THAT MEDICAL INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, BUT DOES NOT IMPLY ENDORSEMENT OF ANY CONCLUSIONS PRESENTED.
