Cornerstone Community Health, Inc., Free Clinic

The Cornerstone Community Health, Inc., Free Clinic opened on January 8, 2014, as a VIM Clinic.

The Cornerstone Community Health, Inc., Free Clinic continues to build on its success as a free clinic. The community is in need of the services they provide; 19% of the county population lives at or below the poverty line and 26% has no health insurance. While one free clinic can hardly meet the vast needs of this county, the Cornerstone Community Health, Inc., Free Clinic, a VIM Clinic, is currently available to provide initial assessment of all individuals and ongoing care for any qualifying patients who are present at the clinic during hours of operation.

For about two hours every Wednesday night, the clinic serves individuals who are present at the soup kitchen and grocery distribution adjacent to the clinic. The population utilizing the food, clothing, and shower services at this location is estimated to include between 200-300 individuals weekly; approximately 5% of these individuals utilize the clinic services weekly. As the Free Clinic expands its hours and facilities, it is estimated that we could double the number of people from the surrounding community who will receive health care outreach services.
