Annual grants of up to $50,000 help investigators research clinical questions in Family Medicine. There are two award cycles each year.
2016 funded JGAP projects include:
- Bonnie Vest, PhD, The Research Foundation of the State University of New York on Behalf of University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY “Understanding What Family Doctors Need to Treat Veterans and Their Families,” and
- Jessica Bloom-Foster, MD, Eastern Main Medical Center, Bangor, ME “A Brief Intervention for Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention in Primary Care: A Feasibility Pilot Study for Patients in Treatment for Opiate Addiction with Buprenorphine.”

Resident Research Grants
This grant program for Family Medicine residents funds short-term research projects that can be conducted and reported within a one-year time period. Up to five awards may be funded each year in the amount of $2,000. Learn more about the program.
