Brooke Sciuto
Capt. Brooke Sciuto, MD, a Family Medicine resident at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, California, is the resident member on the Board of the Trustees of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation.

Dr. Sciuto is a recent graduate of the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD. A member of the AAFP since 2006, Dr. Sciuto recently finished serving a one-year term as the student member of the AAFP Board of Directors. Additionally Dr. Sciuto served on the AAFP Commission on Continuing Professional Development and as AAFP’s alternate delegate representative to the AMA Medical Student Section. She has been the student member of the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors and represented them at the AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students in 2008 and 2009. As president of the Uniformed Services University Family Medicine Interest Group, Dr. Sciuto led the organization to a 2008 Program of Excellence Award. In addition, she served as an FMIG regional coordinator in 2008.

Dr. Sciuto graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During her assignment as an acquisitions officer at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, she was awarded the U.S. Air Force Achievement Medal and the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service.

Dr. Sciuto has served as a medical volunteer in the local community Marine Corps Marathon and the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. She also volunteers with the Capital Area Food Bank, the GOSPEL Health Clinic Symposium and the Mobile Med clinic for underserved patients.

Dr. Sciuto is married to Capt John Sciuto, an Air Force pilot. They met as cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy and they enjoy hiking, skiing and riding bikes in their free time. They currently reside in Sacramento, California.
