Mary Jo Welker, MD

Dr. Mary Jo Welker, MD, FAAFP is an alumnus of The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her Family Practice Residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

At The Ohio State University, Dr. Welker is the Executive Director of the Primary Care Network and the Associate Dean for Primary Care. She also serves as the Chair for the Department of Family Medicine. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Ohio State University Physicians. She is an officer in that organization, currently serving as the Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee. She is a member of the Council of Chairs, and also serves on the Clinical Deans Staff.

Dr. Welker has been active in her professional organizations. She currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. She served as a member of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors from 1986-2005, the Ohio State Medical Association Board of Trustees from 1993-1997, and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors from 2002-2005. She served as President of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians from 1993-1994.
