The 2012 Outstanding Program Award was given to the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians for its Rural Underserved Opportunities Program (R/UOP). The program has provided approximately 400 medical students the opportunity to experience Family Medicine in a rural Idaho community area over the last 24 years. R/UOP was developed to address physician shortages in the region, and continues to help cultivate a primary care pipeline for the Northwest.
