More than any other medical professional, you are aware of how far health care has come and how much farther it has to go to address unmet needs. We are asking you to support your Foundation in our collective efforts to meet the humanitarian, educational and scientific needs important to family physicians and the communities we serve. We are asking for your help because we believe you share our mission and our desire to achieve it.

• Scholarships help 125 Family Medicine residents and medical students attend the AAFP National Conference each year.
• Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium provides grant awards to support Chapter-level philanthropic programs.
• Tar Wars discourages tobacco use among young people through education and community involvement.
• Center for the History of Family Medicine creates awareness of Family Medicine and serves as a research library, archive and museum.

• Family Medicine Cares, our new signature program, provides grant money to new free clinics to buy medical equipment and gives AAFP members living near the clinics an opportunity to volunteer their time and talents.
• The Children’s Project delivers bedding, clothing and school supplies to orphanages, hospitals, schools and other institutions in recipient countries.
• The Disaster Relief and Assistance Program serves the U.S. and the world with relief aid and volunteers whenever disaster strikes

• A study to determine how medical students’ concerns over debt influence specialty choices
• Assessment of patient perceptions related to care received in the Patient Centered Medical Home
• Examination of the impact of decision making aids for patients with pre-diabetes
• The decision-making processes in cervical cancer screening
