Jeffrey J. Cain, MD, FAAFP, a family physician in Denver, Colorado, serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the AAFP Foundation Board of Trustees.
Dr. Cain has demonstrated his dedication to public health through his co-founding of the Tar Wars tobacco-free education program that has reached more than 8.5 million children in 50 states and 14 countries. What began as an inspiration during his Family Medicine Residency is now one of the AAFP’s most respected outreach programs. Tar Wars is funded by the AAFP Foundation through the support of Family Physicians.
He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Amputee Coalition of America, where his leadership and advocacy efforts have resulted in the creation of the coalition’s new office for amputee advocacy in Washington, D.C., as well as a successful national campaign for prosthetic insurance reform.
Dr. Cain continues to support Family Medicine and the AAFP Foundation by donating to the Annual Fund and the Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Fund.
