AAFP Foundation/Pfizer Visiting Professorship Program in Family Medicine

For the ninth consecutive year, the AAFP Foundation/Pfizer Visiting Professorship Program in Family Medicine is bringing educational benefits to U.S. medical schools, teaching hospitals and community hospitals. Six institutions have been awarded up to $7,500 each to host a prominent physician-scientist for three days of teaching and interaction with those involved in Family Medicine at the medical center.

Among the topics the guest professors will cover during 2011-2012 visits are: Patient-Oriented Evidence that Matters (POEMS), practice-based research, cultural competency and community engagement, implementation of the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), and the development of attitudes, knowledge and skills in Integrated Primary Care (IPC).
