Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium

The Family Medicine Philanthropic Consortium (FMPC) is a collaborative program of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation and the Constituent Chapters and Chapter Foundations of the American Academy of Family Physicians. The Consortium is organized to improve the health care of all people.

FMPC Grant Awards Program -- The FMPC Grant Awards Program is set up to support programs of the Constituent Chapters and Chapter Foundations.
Highlight on Diabetes -- This program was designed to engage family physicians to improve their ability to better manage the treatment of patients with diabetes, raise awareness of the most current treatment guidelines, and offer patient education to help improve the health care of patients with diabetes.

FMPC Steering Committee

The 11-member Steering Committee serves in a leadership and advisory capacity to the FMPC and transacts business between the semi-annual meetings of the FMPC. The Steering Committee is responsible for recommending guidelines, policies, events and programs to the FMPC; recommending expenditures consistent with the policies of the AAFP Foundation; setting the agenda and planning the semi-annual FMPC meetings; and serving as Reviewers for FMPC grant award submissions.


Steering Committee members are elected to a three-year term, which will begin on January 1, 2017. There are three seats to be filled, including at least two for physician members.
