Bluffton-Jasper County Volunteers In Medicine
The AAFP Foundation is proud to announce the opening of its second Family Medicine Cares grant recipient clinic. The Bluffton-Jasper County Volunteers In Medicine clinic began seeing patients on September 20, 2011, and celebrated with a Grand Opening on November 9, 2011, at the clinic in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Through a Family Medicine Cares grant, the AAFP Foundation provided essential medical equipment and supplies needed by the clinic. Already an area with a large number of uninsured people, Jasper County is seeing an increase in unemployed seasonal workers, creating even greater need for free health care services.
