Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Two to three volunteer physicians are needed each week throughout the year to provide ongoing patient care in community clinics in Haiti. These volunteer physicians generally serve one-week deployments, working alongside Haitian nurses and medical personnel to deliver the quality care the local population so desperately needs.

Patient Care

The patient care program component allows licensed physicians and residents (under physician supervision) to attend to patients at community clinics in Haiti.

  • Small groups or individuals sign up through the AAFP Foundation for one-week trips to provide patient care for people in Haiti. Family Medicine Cares International seeks to provide at least one patient care team (two to three physician volunteers) each week of the year.
  • All volunteers are escorted by HHI in-country staff and housed at HHI volunteer centers.

For more information please contact the Family Medicine Cares International Team if you are interested in volunteering.
