Each year, the staff of the American Academy of Family Physicians takes a mile-long walk to raise funds for the Children's Project. In 2011, staff in Kansas City and Washington, DC raised over $5,000 and brought in over 40 pairs of shoes for the Children's Project visit to Kyrgyzstan.
In addition to the much-needed shoes, the money raised will go toward the purchase of backpacks, sewing machines, refrigerator, a washing machine, baby quilts, art/school supplies, warm clothing, therapeutic toys, sports equipment and personal hygiene items.
We at the AAFP Foundation are very grateful for the outpouring of support shown by our staff!
