Physicians With Heart (PWH) is a collaboration between the AAFP Foundation and Heart to Heart International. Since its inception, airlift projects have helped people in the former republics of the Soviet Union and in Vietnam.
Physicians With Heart
The 2009 Physicians With Heart Airlift will visit the Republic of Georgia. The country is recovering from civil unrest between Georgian and Russian troops that took place in August of 2008. The volunteer delegation will deliver medical supplies to the southern region, including Tblisi and Gori. Delegates will also conduct educational sessions to train family physicians in family practice management and health care administration. In addition, the 2009 Children's Project will visit several area children's institutions to make significant structural improvements as well as provide needed items such as school supplies, shoes and vitamins.
If you are interested in joining the delegation, please review and complete the Physicians With Heart 2009 Delegate Application. There is a specific need for physicians who could lead educational sessions on family practice management and health care administration.
