Another year means 365 days of opportunities for continued growth and progress in the field of family medicine. It means new positions for some members of the Board of Trustees, but the vision and passion behind the work will remain the same.
“Our Board is constituted with so much talent and collaborates so well with Foundation staff," said board president, David R. Smith, M.D., MPH, FAAFP. “We have a long list of family medicine leaders interested in serving the board so they can continue to advance the specialty, and we have a very strong leadership team for years to come.”
Smith said the 2023 Board of Trustees have some great things coming their way this year, including the strategic plan meeting which will take place on May 18 in Leawood, KS at the AAFP headquarters. During this meeting, they will look ahead for the next 3-5 years and set goals and objectives so they can continue serving the specialty with purpose.
