For more than 60 years, Abbott has been engaged with the AAFP in multiple ways, from exhibiting at Academy events to funding educational programs to collaborating with leadership. As a dedicated and engaged AAFP Foundation Partner, Abbott is a committed Champion, contributing at the $75,000 annual level.

Beyond that contribution, Abbott funded a $1.4 million, 18-month project to help family physicians better understand and utilize continuous glucose monitoring, a health care approach of tremendous importance to the millions of Americans with diabetes.

In 2020, Abbott’s vast contributions to family medicine were formally recognized with the Award for Distinguished and Meritorious Service to Family Medicine, the Academy’s highest honor for vendors, suppliers, and companies who foster the mission and advancement of family medicine.
