Donate your professional honoraria

AAFP Foundation endowment
A gift to the AAFP Foundation’s endowment is a long-term philanthropic investment in the future of family medicine. Gifts to endowment are held and invested, as the corpus of a particular fund, and never expended. A portion of the investment return generated from the endowed fund is used to support the designated purpose of the fund. Through generous gifts from donors and prudent investment management focused on long-term growth, the endowment ensures an ongoing stream of revenue for the Foundation. Endowment growth provides, not only long-term stability for our existing programs, but also the means for steady, sustainable growth and intergenerational equity in the Foundation’s capacity to impact family medicine and the populations served by the specialty.
Endowed funds
With a gift or pledge of $25,000 or more, payable over a maximum of 5 years, a donor can establish an endowed fund to support an existing program of the AAFP Foundation (or for the Foundation’s unrestricted use). An endowed fund can be named after the donor or to honor a mentor or loved one, creating a philanthropic legacy to extend beyond the donor or honoree’s lifetime. Additional gifts (from the original donor or others) will grow the endowed fund corpus and thus its impact on the fund designation. Gifts of cash, direct transfers of securities, qualified charitable distributions from an IRA, or planned gifts (bequests, charitable beneficiary designations, etc.) are all appropriate funding sources.
Make a planned gift through the Family Medicine Legacy Society
The AAFP Foundation recognizes the remarkable commitment you make when deciding to provide support beyond your lifetime. Leaving a planned gift is a meaningful way to express the value you see in the work an organization does and realize significant financial, tax, and estate planning benefits. Choose from different types of planned gifts as you help create the future of family medicine.
