Impact of legacy giving
Legacy gifts support future family doctors and vital programs.
Legacy gifts do more than honor your values—they create lasting change in the specialty you love. By including the AAFP Foundation in your estate plans, you help fund scholarships, leadership development, community health grants, and research that strengthens family medicine across generations.
Your gift ensures that future family physicians are prepared to lead with compassion, care for underserved communities, and advance the science of primary care—because the need for family medicine doesn't end with us. It begins again, every day, with the people your gift will support.

Frequently asked questions
Will my conversation be confidential?
Yes. All inquiries and conversations are handled with complete confidentiality. We are here to support your giving journey—never to pressure or share your information without your consent.
Can I remain anonymous in my giving?
Absolutely. If you choose not to be publicly recognized, we will honor your wishes. You can still receive updates and support without being listed as a Legacy Society member.
What happens after I notify you of my gift?
We’ll confirm receipt, thank you for your commitment, and invite you to join the Family Medicine Legacy Society. You’ll also receive occasional updates about the impact of planned gifts—if you wish.
Do I need to send any legal documents?
No. While we don’t require documentation, many donors choose to share a copy of their bequest language or beneficiary form. This helps ensure we carry out your intentions exactly as planned.
Can my advisor contact you directly?
Yes. We regularly work with attorneys, financial advisors, and executors. Feel free to share our contact information or connect us directly. We’re happy to provide tax ID details, sample language, or custom illustrations.
