AAFP Foundation Announces 2026 Board of Trustees

Leawood, Kan. —The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Foundation has welcomed five new members to the Board of Trustees. Drs. Gail Guerrero-Tucker, Monica Mercer, and Samantha Leadbetter have joined the board as Physician Trustee, Corporate Trustee, and Resident Trustee, respectively. In addition, Drs. Elisabeth Fowlie Mock and Kathleen Mueller have joined the board as liaisons from the AAFP Board of Directors.

These members will continue the Foundation’s work to foster growth in family medicine, build research capacity for family medicine and support programs that improve the health of communities.

In addition to the five new members, Dr. Renee Markovich assumed position as President, Dr. Andrea Gavin as President-Elect, Dr. Justin Bartos as Vice President and Dr. Keith Callahan as Treasurer.

“I’m thrilled to welcome the new members and officers to the AAFP Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” said Dr. Markovich. “Their leadership will help advance our mission to strengthen family medicine through transformative educational and philanthropic initiatives and to cultivate the next generation of family physicians dedicated to serving patients and communities.”
